This interactive breakout session will serve as a forum to promote and facilitate information exchange regarding the operation and management of core facilities.

The session intends to:

• Bring together core lab directors, managers, and scientist wishing to explore and share the many aspects of establishing and operating successful core labs and shared resource facilities.
• Promote the flow of technical expertise within the regional and national IDeA Network of Biomedical Excellence.
• Discuss the steps needed to ensure future sustainability for core labs (post COBRE or INBRE funding).

Attendees will be invited to identify issues and opportunities that can be used to shape future regional and/or national collaborative actions.
