AWARDS Please read the descriptions of our travel awards carefully. An individual will qualify for either the Trainee award or the Young Investigator award but not both.
Trainee Travel Awards These awards are for individuals who are still in training, namely undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows including clinical fellows, interns and residents. Documentation of training status is required in the form of a letter from the applicant’s mentor/supervisor. Please forward documentation to Roxanne Hall at rhall@mpi-evv.com prior to the abstract submission deadline. Applicants who do not submit documentation by the abstract submission deadline will not be considered. The applicant must be the first author and presenter of the abstract. Awards will be based on the scientific merit of the abstract submitted. We anticipate that ten Trainee Travel awards of $500 each will be available.
Young Investigator Awards These awards are for early career investigators in an independent faculty position. They must submit an abstract as lead author describing independent work conducted under their supervision. Winners will present their work as a promoted oral communication or a plenary poster. Applicants applying for these awards need to provide a CV and a letter from their Department Chair detailing the qualifications and affiliation of the applicant as well as his/her contributions to the submitted abstract. Please forward documentation to Roxanne Hall at rhall@mpi-evv.com prior to the abstract submission deadline. Applicants who do not submit documentation by the abstract submission deadline will not be considered. Awardees will be selected by the Workshop Executive Committee based on CV, support letter and scientific merit of the abstract. A maximum of two Young Investigator awards (one for basic research, one for clinical/applied research) of $1000 each will be available.
The required documentation must be submitted to Roxanne Hall at rhall@mpi-evv.com no later than the abstract deadline of March 15th.
